The Beauty of And

L is growing up too fast! I'm sure every mama says that every day. I often find myself just staring at her in wonder. Then I usually ask myself, "How did we create such a beautiful, radiant being?"

Yesterday, this happened times 100. While we were busy getting ready for the day, L was outside on the deck enjoying the crisp spring sunshine. She was inspired to sing by a teenager down the hill who enjoys singing outside. L created her own little diddy which she said the birds taught her. Then she informed us that the birds were singing with her. As this call and response took place she kept thanking the birds for coming out and joining her. She has her Colorado daddy's ability to be in nature and I am fascinated.

Fast forward to this morning. L requested Mongolian metal . . . She is singing along to The Hu as I write this.

I take this as a reminder that nearly all things in life are not either/or, but rather and. There is a lot of gray area in life. This concept is something I am working on within myself and I am lucky to be responsible for this living being who fully embodies an and lifestyle.
