Wow, what an amazing gift to be so close to such beauty and it's free! I know I am lucky to be a native Coloradan and I want to share this treasure with L. Our visit was timely, in fact, Garden of the Gods just ranked 2nd in the nation of best free attractions! You can check out the top ten list here.

We took a Wednesday trip so it probably was not quite as busy as it would be on the weekend, but still plenty of people out and about. We chatted with people from Denver, heard people speaking other languages, and thought we might have a boxing match with a deer!

On to the trails . . . it seemed that the longer trails that did not cut straight through the park were actually sparsely populated which made for some fun running with L in the hiking pack. She loved it and kept telling daddy to "run, run, run!" There would have been no way to run on the busy Perkins Central Park Trail, although it is stroller friendly!

My advice is to watch for wildlife, especially on the sparsely populated trails around the park, visit on a non peak day, and bring your camera! There was a lot of beautiful scenery and even L was in awe! Let me know about your visit!
