Luckily our tickets to this afternoon's Rockies game were free. It was disappointing to see that they blew their lead after we left. We weren't really there to watch the game anyway, we decided to have the ballpark experience instead.
I don't know if you are aware how hot it was in Denver today, but our car said 98 when we got out! That is miserable for anyone, but especially for us mountain folk who come down from 9,000' above sea level! We walked around the entire main concourse before taking our seats because it was so hot. We stopped off at Dinger's Dugout for some climbing and running fun. L loved going through the tunnels with dad and climbing and sliding. She was shy when other children approached and walked away. One child about her age kept coming up to play with her and I'm glad L did not want anything to do with her because her nose was running nonstop and she was coughing. Who brings their kids around other kids like that? I understand that you had tickets for the game, but you could just stay around your seats and not infect the whole small child playground! Rant over! Dinger's Dugout was super fun and I had no idea it was hiding in the picnic area. There is a staff person assigned to make sure children are small enough to play so that keeps it fun for the littlest children.
We got back to our section and took our seats, lower right field, directly in the sun. As soon as I sat with L she said, "Hot." I told her it was, in fact, hot down there. She sat with me for less than a minute before getting antsy. She sat with dad long enough to suck down a baby food pouch. When she got back in my lap she just starting whining. We hustled back to the concourse, which really has no shortage of people to see and things to do. All she wanted to do was point at a car that was on display which made it clear to us that she was ready to leave. Before leaving we shelled out $22 for a hat that will probably fit for less than a year.
All in all, we had a fun time playing around with L at the ballpark. As she gets older I hope that she enjoys watching the game!
